Week 68 & 69

Kaselehlie!! I'm now regretting not writing an email last week hahaha.  But it's been a good 2 weeks!! Last week our mission did a car fast, so we were all in foot or on bikes the whole week and we were all carrying Book of Mormon's in our hands.  It was amazing to see the miracles that came from that.  And let's just say that the members liked it so much that they took it upon themselves to call President Johnson and tell him how much they liked it.  And that's how "Walking Wednesday " and "On foot Friday " was born.  Haha I'm really not mad about it.  At least while the weather is still nice:) This past week we were able to put our friend Xander on date for baptism!!  I love this gospel and the opportunity I have to help people make covenants with God!! This week I was also sent my flight itinerary to go home which I did not appreciate. Even with the roller-coaster it's been, this mission has gone by way too fast.  I'm so grateful f...

Week 67- Craziest Week Of My Life

Kaselehlie!! Ahhhhh the craziest week just happened and it's not gonna get any less crazy. Sister Kaiea left for Fiji on Tuesday so we were at the Mission Office all day getting her stuff ready.  Then she leaves with Sister Koaa who was going there as well.  So Sister Koaas companion and I are like uhhhh what do we do now.  So we go find President Johnson and he tells us that were gonna be comps and we are combining our areas.  Wut. So my new comp is SISTER ALATI!!  She is the best.  She is literally the same person as my favorite companion from Zim.  We have SO much fun together! So I now cover 15 wards AND the MICRONESIAN BRANCH!!  I have barely 3 months left on my mission and I've been called to learn a language. Not just one.  5 languages... our main focus is Pohnpeian however we also take care of Marshallese, Chuukese, kosrian, and Yapese.  It's been wild.  I love it though. I got to go to the branch today and it was so much fu...

Week 66- Life's Crazy

Image
Hey everyone!! I have no time today.  We just got a call saying that my companion is headed out to her og in Fiji TOMORROW.  So we've been running around like chickens with our heads cut off.  I'm still not sure if I'm staying or going or who my new companion will be.  But I've learned SO much from Sister Kaiea in the short week and a half we've had together.  Fiji is beyond blessed. Our friends are progressing really well and Amber was confirmed yesterday!!  The Spirit was so strong.  Her mom even came too:) Love you all!  Have a great week! Sister Baker

Week 65- Transfers, The Gongs, & Amber's Baptism!!

Image
Hey everyone!!! This week was SO GOOD!!  We had transfers and I'm staying in the Layton Hills Stake for my 4th transfer with my 4th companion,  I'm on a roll:) my new companion is Sister Kaiea from Kiribati!!  This is her 3rd transfer out and it's actually her reassignment while she waits for her visa to go to FIJI!!  However her American visa expires in a couple weeks so pray she doesn't get taken away from me in the middle of the transfer :,( Elder and Sister Gong came to our mission on Friday and the spirit there was unlike anything I've ever felt before.  They asked us to be there an hour early because they wanted to shake EVERYONES hand!!  Our mission had 450+ missionaries so that was crazy.  12 of us sang a gorgeous arrangement of I Stand All Amazed, and at the end of the meeting we all sang The Spirit of God.  Everyone was bawling by the end of it.  All of the choir people got a front row seat which ended up having its perks.  Eld...

Week 64- Can I Stay Here Forever?!?!

Masweri Sei Shamwaris!! What a good week:) I don't think I'll ever get tired of being a missionary.  The work went so well this past week.  We had more lessons with our friend Amber and we are all getting so excited for her baptism this weekend!! On Saturday we had an all sisters activity at the mission office. We did yoga and ate some good food. It was so much fun to hang out with everyone! We were able to go to the temple again and in our session there were 5 people going through for the first time. It was so sweet!  Reminded me of my first time.  The temple is SUCH a special place and we are so lucky to have 3 in our tiny little mission. This Friday Elder and Sister Gong are coming to our mission.  It'll be so good!! Love you all!! Sister Baker

Week 63- This Is A Great Work

Hey everyone! This week we were able to put our friend AMBER on date for baptism!!!  We had so many spirit filled lessons with her, and she has so much faith.  I love being a missionary!!! Yesterday President Johnson came to church with us and then to our area for an hour.  It was so fun!!  I truly have been blessed with the most incredible mission leaders throughout my mission.  Guys- THE RESTORATION IS THE COOLEST THING EVER!!!  It's my favorite lesson to teach.  It's impossible to not feel the spirit as you're quoting the First Vision.  I'm so so grateful for the opportunity I have to tell people that THE FULLNESS OF THE GOSPEL IS ON THE EARTH TODAY!! love you all Sister Baker
