Week 13!

Image
Hello everyone!! Crazy to think that I'll hit 1 month in Zimbabwe this week!  On Saturday I hit my 3 months on the mission which was exciting:) time is flying!! This was such a good week but it was also crazy and almost nothing went as planned.  There is a super sweet lady who lives in our zone, Sister Reeve and her house caught on fire Monday night.  So the whole zone went over on Thursday at 6am to help move things.  We ended up being there for 8 hours and missing all our lessons, but I was so grateful for the opportunity to be able to do service!  President was there helping us and he talked to us about how he knew lots of us were missing lessons and other things, but about how the Savior while he was on the earth always took every opportunity to serve, even if it may have been an inconvenience to him. On Saturday we had ZONE CONFERENCE!!!  Zone Conference is my favourite thing ever.  We had it at our chapel with the Bindura Zone.  Their Zone i...

Week 12

Makadi everyone!! Well, yesterday I hit my 2 months in the field which is so exciting!!  Time is absolutely flying by. I can't say I'm a huge fan of P-Days here haha!  President is very serious when he tells us that it is not a day off.   So usually it feels pretty close to any other day.   Last pday I spent 3 hours hand washing my clothes ahhhh.  Which is fine but I didn't know it would take that long!  And then we spent lots of time doing online proselyting.  On Tuesday my district went to the mission office for District Council and I heard one of the elders talking about HEFY!  Turns out the project location for HEFY Zimbabwe this summer is in Domboshava which is about 40 minutes away from my area!!  I'm good friends with the trip leader that is leading the first group so Sister Judd said that I should try to work out a day that the zone could go and do service with them!  That would literally be a DREAM!!  Praying that...

Weeks 10 & 11!! - Practically Trilingual At This Point

Okay everyone,  This one's gonna be a wilde ride.  We have my last few days in the ULM to cover and my first 1.5 weeks in the ZHM ahh! Soooo basically my last few days in the ULM consisted of a lot of tears.  Leaving that mission was probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do.  I had the absolute best trainer Sister Gray and she prepared me so so well for Zimbabwe.   I'd honestly be so lost without her.  Saying goodbye to Sister Gray, Sister Munk, and Sister Pun was honestly the worst thing ever.  I'll always cherish my time in the ULM<3 The trip to Zimbabwe was a wild ride.  We were flying and travelling for 2 days.  We flew from Salt Lake to Atlanta to Johannesburg and then to Zimbabwe.  Aside from literally almost missing our flight out of Johannesburg,  travelling went pretty well!  I was flying with Elder Hill and Sister Nicol who came straight from the MTC.  She's the sweetest!  We all had Chick fil ...

Week 9 And Off To ZIMBABWE

Hi everyone!! This was the best week but also my last week in the ULM:( There were so many miracles and the spirit was so strong.  I'm writing this so late so I don't have time to write as much as I would've liked to, but I'll share two of my favourite experiences from this past week! On Tuesday we had a bit of extra time before dinner so we decided to go walk around a park.  We got there and there were only 3 people there, and two of them were in the relief society in one of our wards.  So we talked to them for a bit and then changed the direction we were walking to hopefully cross paths with the only other person there.  We ended up meeting Kendrick who is an inactive RM who has some bad habits that he's working on breaking.  We had a really heartfelt conversation that ended up with most of us in tears and us inviting him to attend church on Sunday.   It was so amazing! Sister Gray and I got the most incredible opportunity to serve in the life size O...
