Week 13!
Hello everyone!!
Crazy to think that I'll hit 1 month in Zimbabwe this week! On Saturday I hit my 3 months on the mission which was exciting:) time is flying!!
This was such a good week but it was also crazy and almost nothing went as planned. There is a super sweet lady who lives in our zone, Sister Reeve and her house caught on fire Monday night. So the whole zone went over on Thursday at 6am to help move things. We ended up being there for 8 hours and missing all our lessons, but I was so grateful for the opportunity to be able to do service! President was there helping us and he talked to us about how he knew lots of us were missing lessons and other things, but about how the Savior while he was on the earth always took every opportunity to serve, even if it may have been an inconvenience to him.
On Saturday we had ZONE CONFERENCE!!! Zone Conference is my favourite thing ever. We had it at our chapel with the Bindura Zone. Their Zone is all elders so there were over 40 elders and 4 Sisters haha! It was so fun though. We learned about urgency in the work and becoming a consecrated missionary. President Judd gave the most POWERFUL teaching. We were lined up in two lines and he was pacing back and forth speaking very loudly haha. I felt a bit like I was in a gospel boot camp but I loved it and will definitely never forget it.
It was a crazy week and I actually got to see President and Sister Judd EVERY DAY this week. Blessings upon Blessings I tell you. Sunday night they actually invited the 4 of us over to the Mission Home for dinner with them. It was soooo fun!! After dinner President said "okay Sisters, you have 10 minutes, teach us." Good thing we were already two steps ahead of him and had already prepared a spiritual thought. He was very impressed:) we read Nephi's testimony in 2 Nephi 4 and each shared what the gospel means to us. I have never felt the Spirit stronger and some of us were in tears. Such an amazing experience. As we were leaving I said "President can I play your piano sometime?" And he said "of course! You can play it whenever you want!" Not sure how serious he was haha, but I'll take it.
I had the most incredible spiritual experience in our area the other day. We got dropped off and the first person we saw was this drunk man sitting in the back of a truck. He stopped us and asked me "why do you worship God?" So I started trying to teach him and he stopped me and said "no, why do YOU worship God?" So I told him the first thing that came into my mind "because I love Him." He seemed content with that. Since then I've had a lot if time to ponder that, and realise how true that is. I do this because I love Him.
Okay, now for my personal favourite part of the email. SISTER TREESE IS COMING TO ZIMBABWE!!! I've waited for this moment since the minute we hugged and said goodbye at the MTC. So excited for my best friend to be in Zimbabwe with me. Its been too long:)
Love you all and love hearing from you!!!
