Saying goodbye to President and Sister Judd

Week 48- Intermission

Image
Hey everyone,  This past week was crazy.  I received some really sad news Friday night that I will be coming home for surgery.  Honestly I'm still not sure how to deal with it, but I'm already counting down the days till I'll be back in the ZHM.  I didn't realise how much I loved it here.   Since receiving this news it helped me to notice and appreciate the little things even more.  Driving the Sisters home from service with the most beautiful sunset.  Eating fresh mangos off of Brother Augushitos tree.  And every single lesson I was able to teach and person I was able to meet.  This week I was truly able to experience a fulness of joy in my work.  I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!  I'm not sure what this next chapter will look like, but you better believe Zimbabwe isn't getting rid of me for good. Week 47- MLC

Image
Hello everyone!   This was a crazy week, but I'll keep it short. Sisters Night- all the STLs got together on Tuesday night for dinner and a devotional at the mission home.  We had breakfast for dinner and I had no idea how much I missed waffles and whipped cream!  We had such a good devotional about our missions orientation book and how we can best serve and help our sisters.  Then we got to spend the night at the mission home! MLC- Wednesday morning the elders arrived and we all got together to do a service project before starting MLC.  It was the best way to start the day.  At MLC President Judd talked a lot about paradigms- How we view the world and the circumstances we face.  It taught me so much about how important my mindset is when it comes to everything about this work.  I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to constantly be improving myself and to be taught by the BEST leaders.  On Friday we STARTED A NEW MISSION WIDE BOOK ...

Week 46- Mosiah 23:21

Hello everyone!  Sit down and put on your seat belts because this is going to be a wild ride. Monday- transfer day ahhh.  Went to the office early to drop off Sister Chikwenga and pick up Sister Ayigi.  We were there for forever haha but they gave us good food so it was okay. Tuesday- almost every single person bounced us so it was a rough day in the area.  Later that night while it was pouring rain we had to drop a mattress off at the Solomio Sisters house for a new sister that was coming.  We arrive at our house when it's pitch black to grab it and no joke, the river of filthy water from Lehi's dream was running in front of our house.  So we get out, into the water and mud, and it's almost up to my knees and the current is something else.  But we somehow get the mattress safely into the car.  Then as we are driving the Sisters back home, the road had flooded and we hydroplaned lol. (Sorry for the heart attack Sister Moyo) we drop the Sisters off...

Week 45- Transfers

Hellooooo!! I cannot believe another transfer has come and gone.  This was probably my favorite transfer on mission so far!  My companion Sister Chikwenga is just my favourite.  She's completely bogus (everyone please find her in this email list and write to her letting her know how bogus she is) and we enjoyed maybe a little too much these last 6 weeks.  Sadly she is leaving me to go have twins and I will be staying in Damofalls to train Sister Ayigi to be an STL!  I love this girl.  We lived together for 2 transfers in Mutare!  It seems like I just can't get away from that place haha. I went on exchanges with Sister Jarvis this past week and we had such a good day.  We practiced urgency in the work and taught a dozen lessons!  Sorry this is a quick one.  I love you all!  Read your Book of Mormon EVERY day!! Week 44

Hi everyone! Happy new year!! This week was a good one. I had the opportunity to go on exchanges with Sister Msipha. She was my second companion here in Zimbabwe and it was so fun to be together again and see how much she has grown! On Thursday we had another sisters devotional and Sister Eubank spoke to us. It was powerful to be able to hear her testimony and her invitations to us. I've made it a goal for myself to read the Book of Mormon every month in the year 2023. Its not going to be easy, but as the evils in the world grow stronger, we need to be growing stronger spiritually. I testify that Jesus Christ lives. He is my Savior and my Redeemer. The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and contains the fulness of the everlasting gospel. It is Another Testament of Jesus Christ and there is no better way to become like him than by studying and pondering its pages. I love you all! Sister Baker
