Week 46- Mosiah 23:21
Hello everyone! Sit down and put on your seat belts because this is going to be a wild ride.
Monday- transfer day ahhh. Went to the office early to drop off Sister Chikwenga and pick up Sister Ayigi. We were there for forever haha but they gave us good food so it was okay.
Tuesday- almost every single person bounced us so it was a rough day in the area. Later that night while it was pouring rain we had to drop a mattress off at the Solomio Sisters house for a new sister that was coming. We arrive at our house when it's pitch black to grab it and no joke, the river of filthy water from Lehi's dream was running in front of our house. So we get out, into the water and mud, and it's almost up to my knees and the current is something else. But we somehow get the mattress safely into the car. Then as we are driving the Sisters back home, the road had flooded and we hydroplaned lol. (Sorry for the heart attack Sister Moyo) we drop the Sisters off and on our way back witness 2 car accidents in 3 minutes.
Wednesday- we wake up and our house was flooded...I'll just leave it there. The APs tell us to be at the office by 4pm to pick up the new sister. We get there and they were running WAY behind with the orientation so President Judd told us to go hang out somewhere for a few hours. So we go with our ZLs to town and get ice cream. We make it back around 7 and they're still not done yet. But it's okay, because we needed to put pressure in our tires. We go to put pressure in our tires and its not working. So Elder Larsen comes to take a look and yeah, you guessed it. We had a screw in our tire and needed to put on the Spare. How many elders does it take to put on a tire? 8+. Thank you Elders for saving our car. We finally leave the office at 8:30 and by the time we drop the new sister and her stuff off we get home at 10pm. We had comp study and then slept.
Thursday- we are in our area and our phone straight up breaks. The sim just stopped working so we couldn't do anything. So the APs and Sister Judd told us to come to the office to get a new phone and sim. We get there and the APs aren't even there to help. So Pres tried helping us and then the three of us realised we had no idea how to do it. So for 1.5 hours we tried and then we had to join an STL zoom with the Illinois Chicago Mission STLs. After the zoom we spent another hour with the Highlands STLs and were finally able to set it up. Got home so late again.
Friday- Friday was actually such a good day! We had a dozen lessons and had two huge miracles. We have a friend named Tino that is elect but his family situation has made it so that we haven't been able to meet in almost a month. But he texted us telling us to come for a lesson. So we show up and he said that last night he prayed that today his dad would have to leave so that we could meet. God is good. The second miracle was with Brother Augushito. This man is crazy! He is 60+ and is a police officer. He always talks about how much he hates everyone he works with and I don't blame him. He hasn't been paid in 2+ months. But we decided to have a lesson on Charity. At the end I invited him to pray for all the people he works with and ask God to bless them. We go back 2 days later and I ask him if he took our invitation. And he said "I did. And guess what happened? I went to work yesterday and they paid me for everything." That was the first time tears have fallen during a lesson. I love missionary work.
Saturday- we did service all day and then went out for dinner as a district. For one of our services we were putting fertiliser on Maize and then it started pouring rain and we all came out of there with itchy rashes. And it was crazy driving around 8 Sisters in a truck. We also got a couple flat tires.
Sunday- Sunday was amazing. There were SO many people at church and the spirit was so strong. We had a few lessons and then a stake meeting with the ZLs, our stake president, and President Judd. The spirit was so strong and I received so much revelation on how to help my area progress.
I think that's all for this absolutely crazy week! So proud of my companion. She is a natural leader and had such a good attitude even though it was such a hard week. I'm excited for what this week has to offer!
Remember to read your Book of Mormon every day!
