Week 63- This Is A Great Work

Hey everyone! This week we were able to put our friend AMBER on date for baptism!!!  We had so many spirit filled lessons with her, and she has so much faith.  I love being a missionary!!! Yesterday President Johnson came to church with us and then to our area for an hour.  It was so fun!!  I truly have been blessed with the most incredible mission leaders throughout my mission.  Guys- THE RESTORATION IS THE COOLEST THING EVER!!!  It's my favorite lesson to teach.  It's impossible to not feel the spirit as you're quoting the First Vision.  I'm so so grateful for the opportunity I have to tell people that THE FULLNESS OF THE GOSPEL IS ON THE EARTH TODAY!! love you all Sister Baker

Week 62- I'm Glad It's Not Cold

Hey everyone! It was a good week.  The weather has been 100+ everyday and I am THRIVING!!! I've decided however that in September I'm going back to Zimbabwe so that I can avoid another winter and have another summer. This week we.... -put our friend Amber on date for baptism!!   -went to the temple:) -ate lots of ice cream -saw tons of miracles! We have a lot of solid friends that we're teaching and I'm so grateful!!  I love being busy whether it's with finding or teaching.  Our mission has a rule where we need to teach a minimum of 10 lessons a day and I have the BIGGEST TESTIMONY of that.  So many miracles come from it and it truly shows that there is work to be done in Utah:) Highlight of the day was talking with Sister Mpofu.  She said she's coming to visit me and make me sadza for breakfast:) Love you all!! Sister Baker

Week 61- Zone Conference!!

Makadi!! Another good  week ! -I went on exchanges with Hermana Garcia!!  We were in her area so it was fun to use my very limited Spanish for the day:) -We put our friends Stacy and Kayla on date for baptism!! -We had Zone Conference and it was INCREDIBLE!!!  Still my favorite day of the transfer. We talked all about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! We also talked a lot about personal restoration which was super eye opening.  Spiritual Thought: Something I heard this  week  was "trials are no good to us if we don't learn something from them." So true!  It's definitely often times hard to see what good can come from the hard things we go through in this life.  Sometimes we have to endure with faith and then look back on the experience and recognize how it helped us to grow.  And sometimes we won't even know the reason for it until the next life.  But have faith!!  Moroni 7:33 "And Christ hath said, if ye will have...

Week 60- Miracles!!!

Hey everyone!! The work is going crazy here in the Layton Hills Stake.  Sister Simpson and I are teaching so many lessons that we are halfway to meeting our transfer goal and it's only the end of week 2!! Some miracles from this past week: • Our friend Stacy came to church on Sunday for the 3rd time and she brought her friend Staly!!  Both their parents took work off that day so they could make sure the girls made it to church.  And they're both going to girls camp!!!   • We had a member dinner last night, and Sister Iund called us an hour before and said "my cousin from Mexico will be here.  I want you to share a message on baptism and invite her to be baptized.  And it has to be this week because she goes back to Mexico on Saturday. " anyways, she said yes and we are HAVING A BAPTISM ON FRIDAY!!! • We went to the temple this week and it was AMAZING!!!  I love the temple. Spiritual thought: As our mission has been reading D&C its been incredi...

Week 59- "If You're Not Dutch, You're Not Much"

Image
Hi everyone!! We had transfers on Thursday and I'm staying in the Layton Hills Stake!!  I love it here.  There's so much work to do and the members are so good.  Sister Wright left and it was so sad, but I'm training Sister Simpson! I think one of my favorite parts of missionary work is meeting so many different types of people.  There have been countless miracles with inactive members and non members completely wanting to change.  God is so good!   We met this one lady yesterday as we were walking around one of our trailer parks, and she said "where are you from?" And I said "Canada, where are you from?" "Holland.  If you're not Dutch, you're not much." And then she gave us a thumbs up hahaaaaa highlight of my day. Yes, we did get threatened and cursed off a guy's porch for waking him up from a nap..... it was almost 4pm so I have a feeling that there might have been a little more going through his mind.  But you've got to keep...
