Week 8

Hey everyone!! The mission is absolutely flying by.  I got my Zimbabwe visa so I will be heading out there next Wednesday!  The Utah Layton mission is an incredible place to serve and I'm going to miss is a lot.  So grateful for this last week and a bit to forward the work here! When I got to this mission there were about 180 of us.  And now we're down to around 160 because everyone is leaving to their original assignments.   Some sad goodbyes happened this week but I'm so excited for everyone!  Just found out that this mission isnt getting any more missionaries until September which is crazy!! Its just gonna keep shrinking haha. I wrote about this past Monday in my last weekly but on Tuesday not a whole lot out of the ordinary happened.   President Johnson came to our house in the morning to talk haha so we all had a conversation with him.  That was fun!  We have transfers next Tuesday and so we were talking a bit about that and he...

Hi everyone!! Today was such a busy week but it was incredible.   So many miracles, tender mercies and good memories! I'm going to split this email up by days so I don't miss anything!  Sorry if it's a bit long:) Monday: P-Day was so good, our district got together and all played games in a stake center gym.  We taught the Browers (member family from last email) lesson 3- the gospel of Jesus Christ and it was amazing!  We also got to meet an incredible family from Raymond Alberta Canada?!  I didn't know them when I lived there but we know lots of the same people, needless to say we all became friends:) Tuesday: Tuesday was your normal day in the mission, until we had a member lesson with the Wolford family.  They have 8 kids all school age and 6 of them are girls.  We got to their house and the youngest girl Kate said "sisters, do you want to see our chicks?" So of course we said yes.  And so she grabbed our hands and proceeded to take us ove...

Week 5!

This week was so good and so so busy!  I love the this work and I love these people.  There is always so much I want to share every week but I don't want to make these emails too long!!  So here are some highlights:)   -On Monday we had a cool experience in one of our member lessons.  We show up with a little lesson ready and the father who is in the stake presidency goes "we would love it if you sisters could teach our kids the missionary lessons throughout the next few weeks."  Keep in mind this family is completely active.  But we said yes, and then he said that he wanted us to teach lesson one right then and there.  Ahhhhhh!!  Literally no time for us to prepare whatsoever.   As one of his kids was saying the opening prayer I was praying so hard that I would be able to know what to say and be able to testify with the spirit.  And the lesson went SO WELL!!  The spirit was so strong, we were able to make it so interactiv...
