Week 5!
This week was so good and so so busy! I love the this work and I love these people. There is always so much I want to share every week but I don't want to make these emails too long!! So here are some highlights:)
-On Monday we had a cool experience in one of our member lessons. We show up with a little lesson ready and the father who is in the stake presidency goes "we would love it if you sisters could teach our kids the missionary lessons throughout the next few weeks." Keep in mind this family is completely active. But we said yes, and then he said that he wanted us to teach lesson one right then and there. Ahhhhhh!! Literally no time for us to prepare whatsoever. As one of his kids was saying the opening prayer I was praying so hard that I would be able to know what to say and be able to testify with the spirit. And the lesson went SO WELL!! The spirit was so strong, we were able to make it so interactive, I always knew what to say, and most of us cried at some point during the lesson. God hears and answers YOUR prayers!! Every single one!! Even if you're a brand new missionary freaking out about teaching a lesson:)
-On Thursday we had our first zone conference and it was at the Bountiful tabernacle!! It was 9 hours long ahhhh. But so incredible!! There is a life size version of Moses's tabernacle from the Old Testament that will be traveling around our mission for the next few months. We got to go tour it and be trained on how to give tours for it over the next few weeks which will be an exciting experience! The tabernacle that we had the conference in is so old, every prophet except for Joseph Smith has given an adress in it. I had the opportunity to play a musical number while there and the spirit was incredible.
-I WANT YOU ALL TO KNOW WHAT GOD IS SO AWARE OF YOU!! sometimes it's easy to think that you have slipped under the radar. That's how I've felt as I've been here in layton waiting to make it to Zimbabwe. But on Friday God reminded me that He knows me, and He loves me. My comp and I were giving the final lesson of the night to this sweet elderly couple. They had the coolest accents so we asked where they were from! The wife is from South Africa and the husband is from ZIMBABWE!! They met in Zimbabwe!! So I told them that soon I would be serving there and they got so excited!! The wife told me about several people she's friends with that live there and work with the church that I'll probably get to meet. And she gave me her contact information so that we could stay in touch!! What a miracle!!
-conference!!!! Conference was so so good, I loved how much they talked about missionary work and temples, two of my favorite things:)
-something exciting happened!! I had three friends get called to the same mission on the same day and just found out that two of them are MTC companions!! Hermana Lee and Hermana Heggie, the Dominican Republic is soooooo lucky!!!
***** IMPORTANT!!
-As of Thursday my mission president has asked us all to delete Facebook and to only use Messanger to contact immediate family. Obviously I would still love to talk with all of you on P-Day so please just make sure that after today you contact me through EMAIL!!
Love you all so so much!!
