Week 30

Image
Hello everyone,  This week was so good!  We had 5 of our friends come to sacrament yesterday which was so so fun.  I am definitely starting to see the fruits of my labour's here! We had interviews with President and Sister Judd today and they were so good as always.  I always learn so much from them!  So excited for Zone Conference tomorrow.   Sister Judd gave me a pair of brand new fuzzy slippers from gap that are bright red and President said "Sister Baker, whenever I think about you and your name I think about Ricky Baker." Fun times hahaha. We were at one of our friends houses teaching this group of guys a lesson and one of then gave me a plate of cold sadza.  It was not nice. I finally found a coconut here and it made me so happy!! Anyways, I love you all and hope you have a good week!  Don't forget to read your Book of Mormon EVERY day:) Sister Baker

Week 29- I Can't Remember What Happened

Image
Hello everyone,  mamuka sei?! So I can't really remember what happened this past week, but it was good haha.  We met some exciting people and made lots of new friends!   I just want to testify about the power that the Book of Mormon can bring into your life.  I promise that as you read it EVERY day that you will come to know your Savior more personally.  At my last Zone Conference President Judd was talking to us about the purpose of our missionwide Book of Mormon read.  He said "the purpose of this is not for you to gain a testimony of the Book of Mormon.  Its for you to become personally converted to your Savior Jesus Christ." I love you all!! Sister Baker Pics: our new friend Claud & Sis Ayigi

Week 28- 2 Cakes And 13 Cows

Mamukasei xamwari's, To be honest I was not too excited about staying in my area for a 3rd transfer, but time is flying and I am loving my time here in Chikanga!  My companion Sister Mpofu is so funny and we get along so well.  I love her so much! Funniest part is pres really made the tallest and shortest sisters in the mission companions haha! We worked hard this week and saw many miracles.  Our friend Sister Kelly that is on date came to church and it made me so happy to watch her take this next step before baptism.  Over here it's pretty common for us Murungu's to get proposed to randomly.  My favourite from this week was when my compa and I were sitting outside waiting for our friend to come our for his lesson and this guy walked up to us.  Long story short he said "I like your smile, if you come with me I'll send your parents 13 cows."  So I said "my parents are in Canada, how are you going to get the cows over there?"  And he said "oh Cana...

Week 27- Transfers And Iwe's

Hello my little Iwe's!! Today is transfer day!!  Crazy that this will be my fifth transfer.  And guess what?  They have taken my child and sent her to Harare while I stay here in Mutare for my third transfer.  6 comps in 6 months ahh.  My new companion is Sister Mpofu from Bulawayo Zimbabwe.  We actually met each other a few times when I was serving in Harare my first transfer, so it was a fun reunion and I'm looking forward to this upcoming transfer with her. Last week we were having a lesson with my favourite person EVER!  Her name is Sister Kelly and we've been teaching her ever since I've been here in Mutare.  Sister Msipha and I found her my first week here and she's just the best.  I was able to put her on date and I'm so grateful I'll get to be here for her baptism! We ran out of meat in our house so Sister Chikwenga arranged for someone to bring us a live chicken which she then proceeded to slaughter.  I'm still not sure how I fe...
