Week 28- 2 Cakes And 13 Cows
Mamukasei xamwari's,
To be honest I was not too excited about staying in my area for a 3rd transfer, but time is flying and I am loving my time here in Chikanga! My companion Sister Mpofu is so funny and we get along so well. I love her so much! Funniest part is pres really made the tallest and shortest sisters in the mission companions haha!
We worked hard this week and saw many miracles. Our friend Sister Kelly that is on date came to church and it made me so happy to watch her take this next step before baptism.
Over here it's pretty common for us Murungu's to get proposed to randomly. My favourite from this week was when my compa and I were sitting outside waiting for our friend to come our for his lesson and this guy walked up to us. Long story short he said "I like your smile, if you come with me I'll send your parents 13 cows." So I said "my parents are in Canada, how are you going to get the cows over there?" And he said "oh Canada, I'll slaughter them and send them the fillets." Needless to say my compa and I were laughing SO hard hahaha. I love Zimbabwe.
Throughout this past week I've been lucky enough to spend a lot of time teaching the Plan of Salvation. For most of the lessons, my companion and I made the Atonement of Jesus Christ it's own lesson because there is so much to it. In my last Zone Conference, President Judd emphasised the important of calling it the Atonement of Jesus Christ rather than just the Atonement. Because the Atonement without Jesus Christ isn't anything at all. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and am so grateful for his sacrifice. A goal my zone made last transfer was to pick one part of the Atonement of Jesus Christ to study in the days leading up to Sunday and then to have that topic on your mind while you partake of the Sacrament. Doing this has helped me in so many ways. The most important thing it has done for me though is show me how personal this event was. I invite each of you to do this exercise this upcoming week as you prepare to partake of the Sacrament. I promise that as you do so the Sacrament will become so much more meaningful to you.
I love you all so much and love hearing from you!
Sister Baker
