Week 12

Makadi everyone!!

Well, yesterday I hit my 2 months in the field which is so exciting!!  Time is absolutely flying by.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of P-Days here haha!  President is very serious when he tells us that it is not a day off.   So usually it feels pretty close to any other day.   Last pday I spent 3 hours hand washing my clothes ahhhh.  Which is fine but I didn't know it would take that long!  And then we spent lots of time doing online proselyting.

On Tuesday my district went to the mission office for District Council and I heard one of the elders talking about HEFY!  Turns out the project location for HEFY Zimbabwe this summer is in Domboshava which is about 40 minutes away from my area!!  I'm good friends with the trip leader that is leading the first group so Sister Judd said that I should try to work out a day that the zone could go and do service with them!  That would literally be a DREAM!!  Praying that we can get something worked out.

Wednesday was SUCH an incredible day!!  The revelation was flowing haha.  I PUT SOMEONE ON DATE!!  We were having a lesson with this lady for the first time, she's actually our bishops sister! We were sitting with her outside teaching her the Plan of Salvation,  and almost immediately the Spirit started telling me that I needed to invite her to be baptised.   I thought that was crazyyyyy.  I barely even knew her and we were teaching the Plan of Salvation of all things.  But the spirit kept pushing.   So at the end, after I taught her about resurrection and the kingdoms of glory, I said "Sister Hove, will you follow the example of our Savior Jesus Christ by being baptised by someone holding priesthood authority?"  And almost immediately she said "yes, I will."  Mind blown.  I then said "will you prepare to be baptised on the first Sunday in June?" She puts her face in her hands and said "I knew I was going to be baptised in June, I had a dream about it."  Literally what??!!  I didn't even know the date of that day, it just came out.  That was such an incredible moment.
Then a few hours later a kid threw a rotten egg at me.  But that's missionary life I guess??

Thursday the power was out literally allll day which is always a fun time.   We made it work though!  We had a long day in the area and found a ton of new people!!  I also got sooooo sunburnt.  So grateful for Sister Keim and her aloe haha.  The elders took us to get pizza when they picked us up from our area.  Turns out it was revelation because when we got home the power was still out so we couldn't cook anything.  At around 10:00pm we started freaking out because we thought we were hearing gun shots.  Turns out someone was just doing fireworks so we watched them out our window.   Also Thursday was my 1 year mark from deciding to serve a mission, so that's kind of exciting:)

We woke up on Friday morning and the power was still out.  Our Friday morning devotional had to be moved to the evening.   While in our area we had a lesson with one of our new friends.  We started teaching the Restoration and he goes "wait, is it okay if I drink this while you teach?" Proceeds to hold up a glass of alcohol HAHA!  So we said "no, we'll teach you about that next time." And he was fine with that:)  When we got home we had the devotional and me, Sister Musanga,  Sister Keim, and Sister Moyo did a musical number which was fun!

On Sunday we went to church and Relif Society was completely in Shona which was SO sad.  It gave me an extra hour to do personal study which is good I guess!  We then had some lessons and went to a members house with our zone and has sadza! I'm really starting to like that stuff!

I think thats all.  I love you all and I love hearing from you, so email me and tell me what's going on in your lives!!
