Week 65- Transfers, The Gongs, & Amber's Baptism!!

Hey everyone!!!

This week was SO GOOD!!  We had transfers and I'm staying in the Layton Hills Stake for my 4th transfer with my 4th companion,  I'm on a roll:) my new companion is Sister Kaiea from Kiribati!!  This is her 3rd transfer out and it's actually her reassignment while she waits for her visa to go to FIJI!!  However her American visa expires in a couple weeks so pray she doesn't get taken away from me in the middle of the transfer :,(

Elder and Sister Gong came to our mission on Friday and the spirit there was unlike anything I've ever felt before.  They asked us to be there an hour early because they wanted to shake EVERYONES hand!!  Our mission had 450+ missionaries so that was crazy.  12 of us sang a gorgeous arrangement of I Stand All Amazed, and at the end of the meeting we all sang The Spirit of God.  Everyone was bawling by the end of it.  All of the choir people got a front row seat which ended up having its perks.  Elder Gong let three of us touch some of the original pages from one of the first Book of Mormons, and Sister Gong gave me a hug.  10/10 day.

Yesterday our friend Amber got BAPTIZED!!!  You guys it was perfect.  The Chapel Hills Ward members made our job SO easy.  We had over 40 people there to support her.  Including her mom who isn't a member.  The spirit was SO STRONG!!  All you could hear in that room was sniffling because everyone Including her mom was crying throughout the entire thing. I was able to play a hymn arrangement of More Holiness Give Me and it went so good.  It was a perfect day.

As I was watching the baptism, I was thinking about my mission experience so far.  Everyone told me that the stake I'm currently serving is has the highest baptizing rate in the entire mission and this was only my first baptism here.  But as soon as those thoughts of inadequacy came in there was a voice that said 'it's all worth it." And it was. It is.  I'm so grateful for the opportunity I've been given to help people come closer to Christ.

Love you all,
Sister Baker
