Week 38!!

Hello everyone! Mamuka sei?!

This week was wild. To start it off we got a call from our STLs last Sunday at 4pm and they said "President and Sister Judd called and said we have to go on exchanges with you both right now. We'll be there in 2 hours." Uhhh so we literally had exchanges from Sunday night to Monday morning which was a PDay so we only went to the area for 3 hours. It was so weird. All we know is that something was going on between our STLs because pres said "Baker and Mpofu are the best companionship that's ever been in Mutare. You two need to learn from them." Uhhh we are both still so confused haha. But I was able to be in Chikanga with Sister Moyo who I lived with (almost) my first transfer here in Zim so it was a party!

My companion and I have been sick the past 2 weeks and we have no idea why or how. But we're both stubborn for better or for worse, so we kept going to the area until our STLs called us on Thursday and said we wernt allowed to leave the house. Then they said the same thing on Friday. They keep threatening to take me to the hospital even though its literally just the flu.

Other than that not much else happened this week. Today President and Sister Judd are coming to Mutare and we're having interviews and then Zone Conference tomorrow. Transfer calls are this Friday and transfers are next Monday. I'm pretty sure I'm leaving but pres is so unpredictable so you never know haha!

Spiritual thought:
I've been reading this book that my religion Prof recommended to me before I left. It's called Faith is Not Blind. This week I read a chapter that talked a lot about sanctification. It talked about how after you've committed to become a disciple of Jesus Christ you "have signed yourself up for a certain special type of suffering." It gave the example of Elder Neil A Maxwell when he got diagnosed with Leukaemia. He talked about how humbling this experience was and how it made it possible for him to connect with people more genuinely. Throughout this life as we are striving to become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ, we will all have to go through different things, and we can choose how we are going to let these things affect us. There is inevitable suffering. But we can all draw upon the enabling power and strength that comes throug the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

I love you all! Christ and your Father in Heaven know you and love you perfectly.

From Mom: Within a week she was transferred back to Harare. She has been made a sister training leader and has passed her driving test so she is now driving on the left side of the road :-) she’s feeling a little overwhelmed but excited for this new chapter.
